Wardens of the Wilderness

Two animals that are usually adversaries stand side by side on a high rocky hill top. Together a wolf and a buffalo look down on the snowy landscape as if vigilant for signs of trouble within their lands. They stand not as wild animals, but are symbols of the wilderness of the North American west. Both stand tall upon a rock with a view of a wintery valley below where fir trees dot the landscape. A jagged snowcapped mountain breaks the horizon under a deep blue sky.

For this image, I wanted to combine two of my favorite animal subjects. Typically, these two would not get along but I thought it interesting to depict them standing as allies.
